ARTIST BIO
Daniel González
NYC-born drummer Daniel González brings creative energy, deep groove, and a lifelong love of rhythm to every stage he hits. He kicked off his professional career in the early ’90s while serving with the U.S. Army Band in Honolulu, honing his craft in Hawaii’s vibrant live music scene before returning home to NYC to study and perform full-time.
Daniel studied at UNLV and went on to earn both his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Mercy University, balancing his passion for performance with a commitment to teaching and mentorship.
A versatile player endorsed by Bucks County Drums and Red Cymbals (Australia), Daniel has performed with heavyweights such as Mark Murphy, Tom Harrell, John Benitez, Lonnie Plaxico, Edsel Gomez, Norbert Stachel, Pablo Batista, and more. You can catch him locking in grooves with LehCats (NYC), Labex Funk Project (Philly), and The Joe Orrach Performance Project (SF Bay Area), as well as lighting up jazz festivals throughout the region.
Currently an Artist in Residence at Moravian University, Daniel shares his expertise in drums and Latin percussion while also teaching at the Community Music School in Allentown. He’s the founder of Percussion Playhouse, an interactive experience where anyone can jump in, play, and explore the joy of rhythm, creativity, and connection.
Daniel lives by one groove philosophy: “When you feel good, you sound good.”
