Gustavo Soares - Brazil / Australia


Originally from Brazil, Gustavo Soares has been living in Australia for 8 years. With a drumming career that spans over two decades, he brings a rich and diverse musical background to the Red Cymbals artist roster.

Back in Brazil, Gustavo Soares toured extensively, performing with a wide range of gospel artists and exploring styles such as worship, gospel, Brazilian country, and Brazilian jazz. His musical journey has taken him across the country, playing in churches, festivals, and events that helped shape his unique sound and rhythmic versatility.

Now based in Noosa, Queensland, Gustavo Soares continues to share his passion for music through performance and education. He is the founder of GS Music Lessons (gsmusiclessons.com.au), a local music school offering drum and music tuition for more than 150 students of all ages, both in schools and private settings.

In addition to teaching, he plays at local gigs with talented Sunshine Coast artists such as Jared Porter and JL Rathbone, and serves as a drummer in the Noosa Church Worship Team, playing weekly as part of his local faith community.

With a deep love for Brazilian jazz and rhythms like samba, bossa nova, and baião, as well as Latin styles such as salsa, Gustavo Soares brings his Brazilian Jazz Project to life — a vibrant drum workshop and clinic that celebrates the heart of Brazilian music.
